Carnival 2026

I take this opportunity to commend the KSAMC and our valued partners for the exceptional coordination and execution demonstrated during the 2026 Carnival season.

The collaborative efforts of the various agencies involved ensured that the festivities were well-organized, safe, and enjoyable for all participants and spectators. This level of coordination reflects a strong commitment to effective planning and inter-agency cooperation.

Special mention must be made of the marked improvement in waste management and disposal. Reports indicate that streets were cleared efficiently following the Road March, minimizing environmental impact and restoring normalcy in record time. This is a significant achievement and a testament to the dedication ofthe teams involved.

We were so determined to get it right or at least to minimize unwanted outcomes. In doing so, we tested the sample of the paints being used during the various activities to ensure they could be easily removed.

The KSAMC is aware of an isolated shooting incident at the Big Wall Party. We unequivocally condemn all acts of violence and extend our best wishes for the full recovery of those who were injured during the incident.

I also wish to reflect on the broader staging of Carnival in Kingston. Once again, the event has proven to be a resounding success. It continues to demonstrate its growing economic importance to the city, driving activity across multiple sectors and bringing vibrancy to our urban space.

I commend the bands, the organizers, and the patrons who all contributed to the success of the event. The KSAMC was engaged from the outset, working closely with stakeholders to support the planning, logistics, and coordination required to ensure smooth execution. This experience stands as a clear example of what can be achieved through collaboration, strategic planning, and a shared commitment to excellence.

His Worship the Mayor of Kingston

Councillor Andrew A. Swaby, JP
