Mr. Robert H.P. Hill, J.P. has been working in the service of the Government of Jamaica for approximately twenty (20) years and is regarded as a specialist in Local Governance; he was formerly the Senior Director of Local Government Administration and Community Services in the Ministry of Local Government & Community Development and Project Manager for the “Enhancing Civil Society Participation in Local Government for Community Safety” Project funded by the UNDP.
He holds a BSc (Hons.) Degree in Political Science & International Relations and a MSc. Degree in Governance and Public Policy from The Sir Arthur Lewis Institute for Social & Economic Studies (SALISES) at the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus. Mr. Hill is also a member of the internationally renowned Project Management Institute (PMI).
In addition, he has participated in several local and international fora on subjects related to Good Governance and Democracy, Risk Management, City & Municipal Management, Community Development, Social Protection, Community Safety and Security, Regional Integration and Trade; in November 2010, he was awarded the prestigious International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) Scholarship from the United States Department of State which focused on State and Local Governments.
Mr. Hill is a member of the American Society for Public Administration, the American Society of Black Public Administrators and the IVLP Alumni Network of the Americas (IANA) based in Buenos Aires Argentina.
On July 19, 2012, Mr. Hill was commissioned and appointed a Justice of the Peace for the Parish of Kingston by His Excellency Sir Patrick L. Allen, Governor General of Jamaica.
